about

Zimbabwean émigré and adopted mancunian Pascal Makonese collaborates here with producer John Ellis in an album recorded in 2010 and released only previously on less than 80 hand designed CDs. They head up a group of talented musicians that mix traditional african, south american and mancunian rhythm to produce a unique, hypnotic sound, while Makonese sings, and sometimes speaks, in his native Shona, telling some turbulent and moving tales of his compatriots through the past few decades.
